Parkour offers a powerful and often overlooked approach to falls prevention—one that is urgently needed.
Each year, more than 30,000 adults over the age of 65 lose their lives due to fall-related injuries, a staggering increase of over 50% since 2007. This alarming trend is closely tied to a broader decline in everyday movement, particularly later in life.
As mobility decreases, confidence often follows. Fear of falling can turn once-familiar environments into sources of anxiety. Many people respond by shrinking their world—limiting movement to only what feels safe or necessary. Over time, this restriction can deepen social isolation, reduce physical activity, and further increase fall risk, creating a difficult cycle to break.
PK Silver© offers a way forward by reframing falling—not as something to be feared, but as a skill that can be learned. Our curriculum builds awareness, balance, and agility to help participants prepare for and safely manage falls during everyday movement, when they are most likely to occur. With this foundation of confidence and safety, individuals can rediscover creative, playful movement—and enjoy moving through the world together again.
We deliver PK Silver© in two ways: Certification for fitness professionals who want to bring these techniques to seniors they are already working with, and Classes for 50+ adults who want to move differently.
